PacketSmith uses its own in-house developed licensing system. The software cannot be executed without a valid license file generated for a target user and system.

The license is hardware-locked and registered to a specific user/entity upon purchase, with a specific number of users, type, target and validity period. For hardware locking, and upon purchasing a license, the user/entity will receive a program to run on the system where PacketSmith will be used, to generate an anonymous hardware fingerprint that will be used to generate the license file “license.dat”.

Single User License Pricing
  1. A single-user license for PacketSmith costs US$2000 (before tax for Canadian customers) and is valid for one year from the date of issue.
  2. For Canadian customers: GST/HST and PST will be calculated based on your province’s tax rates, as per the Canadian government’s revenue rates.
  3. For international customers: No tax will be applied.

This includes technical and usage documentation, updates, support, bug fixes, and feature requests for the duration of the license.

When you purchase PacketSmith, you decide on the license period, with a minimum of one year. Once your license expires, PacketSmith will no longer function. However, throughout your active license period, you’ll receive technical support, updates, and new releases as a licensee. Only one user is allowed to use the software for a purchased license key.

Netomize may offer a demo version of PacketSmith to selected users and companies specifically for demonstration purposes. Please note that trial licenses are not eligible for any updates. The duration of a trial license will be mutually agreed upon by both the licensor and the licensee.

How to Purchase a PacketSmith License

To buy a PacketSmith license, please send an email to sales@packetsmith.ca with the following information:

  • User name (for personal/individual license) or Company name (for enterprise license)
  • Valid email address
  • Number of users that will use the software
  • Company name (if applicable)
  • License duration in years for a minimum of 1 year
  • Licensee address (country, province and city)

Netomize will send you the total price calculated based on your requirements. We provide two payment options, via Stripe or wire transfer. Please check the Buy page for more information.

Once your payment is verified, you’ll receive an executable file that you’ll need to run on the system where PacketSmith will be used. This generates an anonymous hardware fingerprint, which we then use to create your “license.dat” file. This process is necessary because your license is hardware-locked and registered to your specific user or entity upon purchase, including details like the number of users, license type, target, and validity period.

Afterwards, we send you a link to download a compressed and password-protected copy of PacketSmith software. The password will be sent in a separate email.
